A Message from the Principal

The Little Dragon Family,

WE did it! We made it through the entire school year during a pandemic. When I say, “we” I mean the school employees, the kids, and the parents and families that make our community so special. We banded together and supported one another through so many uncertainties and questions. While we all had some fears and worries at various times during the year, we persevered and made it through a school year unlike any we’ve ever experienced before, and hopefully will never experience again. Thank you for loving your children so well and giving them the courage and support they need to come to school each day, ready to learn. Thank you for ensuring your children are healthy and keeping them at home when they aren’t. Thank you for checking on our teachers and letting them know you are in their corner. You have been a blessing to us and for that I sincerely say, thank you.

As we look towards the upcoming school year we anticipate returning without masks or social distancing and plan to have events as we normally would. As we’ve all seen, things can change very quickly, but this is what we’ve been told to plan for, so that is what we’re doing. As a result, parents will be able to attend school for things like lunch visits, Meet the Teacher Night, and other events throughout the school year. It’s important to me to build on the school’s relationships with parents by giving you ample opportunities to come and see all the great things that go on at CES.

Registration information for the 2021-2022 school year can be found on our school’s website. If you already attend CES and do not have a change of address, then you do not need to come to school prior to the first day. Teachers will be contacting families in late July/early August concerning class placements. Information for incoming kindergarten families can be found on our website as well.

Have a great summer and enjoy the weather! If you have any other specific needs that I can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out (

A Message from the PTA President

Hello Little Dragon Parents & Students –
I am thrilled to lead the PTA board this upcoming year on my second term as President. We have had a crazy ride of a year, and I am looking forward to things getting back to “normal” in August.

Next school year I will have two Little Dragons at CES – a 5th grader and a 2 nd grader. My other dragon attends WCMS in the 7th grade, and I have one more at home who will be a Little Dragon next year. I am so proud to call CES our home!

The two big PTA dates for the next school year are Dragon Dash on October 29, 2021, and Fair in the Lair on April 23, 2022. We will also have an opening of the new gym, Donuts with Dragons, and a few other fun things planned. Please join our Facebook page to keep up with us…there may be a summer event coming up!

August 9th will be here before you know it, so enjoy your summer with your kids. I look forward to helping CES have the best year yet.

Maroon and White,
Amanda Cantrell

CES Mission and Vision

Collierville Elementary School equips Little Dragons with the skills necessary to be successful in learning, leadership, and life.

Collierville Elementary School will inspire every Little Dragon to be thriving and confident students who become life learners and contributing citizens in their community.

Collierville Elementary School understands the importance of the development of the whole child.

Educators reflect upon teaching practices for the purpose of professional growth and the continued enhancement of quality instruction as well as engage in on-going professional development and work collaboratively to share the knowledge we acquire.

All relationships matter and are essential to learning. Every learner is different. As educators,
we meet each child where they are and allow them to be active participants in their learning.

Each of us must do our part to create a safe, respectful and positive environment that encourages learning and risk-taking.

A commitment to student success is a shared responsibility among students, parents, educators, staff, and the community.

Every child deserves to have someone that loves them.

When you set high expectations, all will rise to the challenge by working hard, taking risks, and persevering.

PTA Objectives
